Thank god its' friday!
Quite a day i been through today.Whole day spend at UKM watching
a robot design competition, this year under the motto of
"Robocon Govinda".
Quote from http://www.roboconindia.com/:
"The contest theme is based on Indian mythology related to
Lord Krishna (a Hindu deity) and the festival of Dahi-Handi,
celebrated annually in northern part of India.
Born as a prince and brought up into a cowherd family, Krishna is
often referred to as "Govinda". As children, Govinda and his
friends used to raid kitchens in search of milk, butter (Makhkhan)
and cheese (Paneer).
They also used to tease young girls (Gopis) carrying pots (Matka)
filled with water, milk, butter, or cheese on their heads. A common
practice in rural India is to suspend these pots from beams
high in the ceiling out of reach of cats.
During the day when the men were busy in the fields and the
women folk busy with outdoor chores, the naughty and adventurous
Govinda along with his band of friends would form a human pyramid
to reach these pots and help themselves to the contents."
In 21st century, they replace this whole mythology with robotic
arms and Automated Guided Vehicle to recreate the scenario,
which result this competition among different university.
Very interesting event, since those creations i saw today is the
effort of student and most importantly,Buatan Malaysia(tm). :-)
Since I get free lunch and a nice show,i cant resist the temptation.
Well,it is a well spend day. Just that 1 thing intrigue me,
WHY THE HECK THEY PLACE MORE THAN 15 POLICE
DURING THE EVENT??!!
There are no VVIPs in sight or lucrative prize money on the spot.
This is so wrong.Police should spend time fight crimes and not
guarding some competition with such vast amount of human resource.
Unless, they got tip off that Mat Selamat plan to snatch one of this
advance gadget and convert it into a bombing device...
You cannot catch me~
